THE COMPANY
Philosophy
We have made “Health through Nature” our guiding principle. Our research and development efforts are aimed at exploring the rich treasures of nature for the health of humans and animals and making them available for their well-being.
In doing so, we draw from traditional knowledge that has been preserved over generations as well as from the findings of modern life sciences. The important contribution of ABAC R&D is to incorporate the knowledge gained into health-promoting, holistic products for humans and animals. In doing so, we strive to design the manufacturing processes in such a way that our products remain natural and contain the bioactive ingredients of the source materials intact.
Our goals are achieved by networking with renowned scientists and working with engineers from Switzerland and Europe. ABAC R&D remains responsible for ensuring that the criteria for a gentle and ecological production are met.
Competencies
Natural and biological processes inspire ABAC R&D in the development of valuable bioproducts. Because nature is very successful in the production of its countless substances, ABAC R&D tries to learn from its principles (biomimetics). This means that:
- the processing of the natural raw materials is mainly carried out in an aqueous environment and with biocatalysts (enzymes).
- all used materials and processes meet the regulatory requirements of the relevant markets, this is an indispensable principle for us.
Team
The Executive Director, Dr. Othmar Käppeli, is supported by scientific staff with a profound knowledge of the relevant life sciences, knowledge acquisition and technology transfer. This is an optimal prerequisite for achieving the set objectives.
